Purpose
The breast
consists of milk ducts and
glands. They are surrounded
by fatty tissue that
provides shape to the
breast. The pectoralis major
muscle or chest muscle is
situated beneath the glands.
Factors such as pregnancy
and breastfeeding (when the
milk glands are enlarged) or
rapid weight loss, combined
with the effects of gravity,
can lead to stretching of
the skin with age, which may
cause the breast to droop or
sag. The purpose of the
Breast Lift lies in the
aesthetical improvement of
the breast shape,
re-creating a harmonious,
naturally round breast form
by surgically raising and
tightening muscle. The
result is achieved by the
partial removal of skin. The
breast volume is not changed
by this cosmetic plastic
procedure.
