Complete SMAS face and neck lift

SMAS = equivalently to "Sub-Musculoaponeurotic system"). The SMAS Method represents an advancement of the original classic face lift which today is often called the Soft Lift. With the Soft Lift, only the skin is tightened. The SMAS hypodermis is embedded in the subcutaneous fatty tissue, dividing it practically into two separate thin fatty layers. The SMAS consists of the Platysma layer in the neck range, the Orbicular is Ores in the middle face range and of the Temporoparietal layer in the upper area of the face (temporal area). The SMAS tissues together with the underlying muscle tissue gives us the ability to express our emotions through the expressions of our face. These hypodermic structures, composed of a unit of sinews, ligaments and muscle tissue, are re-positioned during the surgery (carried out under general anesthesia). The flaccid hypodermis (the sub muscular aponeurotic system) is raised, brought back to its original natural position and, if necessary, diagonally- shortened and tightened. Finally it is stabilized with special sutures. The facial skin is re-positioned over the tightened tissue. Excessive skin is removed along the incision-line. The SMAS method is especially indicated for patients over 40-45 and results in a particularly natural and long lasting result (10years) including all areas of the face and the neck. It is possible to individually combine the operation with the eyelid lift, endoscopy, laser removal of fine wrinkles and with facial liposuction for a complete personalized rejuvenation with excellent results. The SMAS Lift Method is today generally recognized as the method of choice, combing low risk and excellent results. Our doctors prefer the SMAS Method.

Deep plane lift - extended SMAS lift

This is a relatively new method. The intervention, like the SMAS Lift, more extensive than a standard Face Lift. The fundamental difference lies in the inclusion of the mid-face or nasolabial area, thus the area around the nose and lips. The nasolabial folds in particular, extending from the mouth to the sides of the nose, are directly tightened with this intervention. Larger areas of the facial skin must be raised to enable the surgeon to penetrate the otherwise unaffected nasolabial area. The nasolabial fold will be upwardly and laterally repositioned, and the profiles at the chin and jaw will be improved. With a Deep Plane Lift the surgeon operates at deeper levels than a ' normal ' face lift (where the SMAS layer together with the skin and the fat tissue are separate from the underlying tissue of the expressive muscles and then tightened as a unit) the patient is of course subjected to a higher operational risk. Risks are, as with every face lift: hematoma, thrombosis, and injury of the nerves. A temporary change in the sensitivity of the skin can occur after every face lift and can be considered normal.

Composite face lift - super extended face lift

With this method all layers and tissues are repositioned from the skin over the SMAS connective tissue and the muscle tissue layer to down to the bone tissue. The zone of contact extends also into the upper cheek area. The important nerve strands running there represent an increased operation risk. The advantages of the Composite Lift are in the increased quality and naturalness of the result and in its duration of 15 years.

Tragus face lift - face lift with tragus incision

Usually the incision for face lift follows the natural curves of the ear front and is already practically invisible. With the tragus lift, however, the half length of this incision is placed behind the tragus, (inside of the ear)  where is is not visible at all. The risk is that with the tension of the skin the tragus can be pulled forward. This can make the face appear slightly larger.

Endoscopic face lift

The Endoscopy gives a complete range of new possibilities to the experienced plastic surgeon, consisting of a minimally invasive procedure with optimal natural rejuvenation results, avoiding any visible scar. Depending on the individual requirement with the endoscopy, it is possible to either correct single problem areas  or to perform a complete endoscopic face lift that includes all the areas of the face and  neck. Endoscopic procedures correct even those areas that are not corrected with the classic methods of face lifting. The endoscopy in a certain way represents the contrary of a classic soft lift, where the skin is tightened only superficially with frequently unnatural results, (known as the mask effect). With the endoscopic procedure, the plastic surgeon operates behind the skin, refreshing and tightening the supporting layers of the facial tissues and the expressive muscles. Accordingly the result is natural and long lasting. Any mask effect is excluded with the endoscopy.
