purpose of a profiloplasty consists
in the harmonization of the
facial outlines, including
the augmentation of the
cheek bone structure,
correction of the nose shape
and the chin profile.

Purpose
of chin correction
The aesthetic harmonization of the chin outlines
(technically: reduction or
augmentation of the chin) is
performed on patients who
have a protruding and
optically displeasing chin
or an inverted chin.
Procedure
There are two completely different ways of
performing a chin
correction:
Implants
To underline and emphasize some parts of the
face, different filling
materials are used (Silicon,
Latex,etc.). Usually the
implants are inserted and
positioned through small
cuts inside the mouth and
below the lower lip.
Surgical
sculpturing of the chin bone
With
this procedure it is
possible to reduce the chin.
During the reduction
procedure the chin bone is
re-modeled in order to
achieve the desired result.

To emphasize the cheek bones, special implants are introduced and positioned
on the upper cheek area,
through small cuts inside
the mouth and above the
upper lip.
