First
of all (independently from the type of positioning) the
implant must be place exactly in the
center
to the height
of the areola. It is vertically that horizontally. A not
precise positioning
compromises the aesthetic result. In
this case the final shape will not be as natural and
harmonious as wished. Relatively often, but especially when
the patient decides to have an rather decisive augmentation
of the volume of the breast, the space in the area under the
areola is not sufficient for a perfectly and correct
positioning of the implant.
In
some cases the specialist will perform a refinement of the
submammary
fold.
In this case the
expert surgeon slightly moves
the
submammary fold downwards, thus creating the necessary space
for the implant also in the area under the areola. This
precise and personalized procedure is sometimes important in
order to make sure also with big sized implants the
harmonious, natural and aesthetically perfectly symmetrical
result.
Sometimes
it is required to apply an additional special
stabilization
strip over the top
side of
the
breasts and united at the back in order to
stabilize the implants in their correct post operational
position. The strips hold the implants in the ideal position
and avoids thereby a possible later optically unfavorable
visibility of the edges of the implant in the cleavage. The
special strip can be removed, depending upon individual
recommendation of the specialist, after 14-20 days.
