About

With increasing age the skin loses natural elasticity

Complete SMAS Face and Neck Lift

At the same time the muscles and supporting

connective tissues lose firmness. These factors lead to aesthetical deterioration of the appearance of the face, caused by the classical age signs such as wrinkles and folds and relaxed (drooping) skin. The informed patient today has multiple possibilities of treatment and correction, for every individual situation. Today it is possible to slow down the aging process of the skin up to a certain degree and even to reverse the aging process up to a certain point. While modern skin dermatology and laser skin treatments mainly help to prevent the early aging of the skin by smoothing it and removing fine wrinkles, the surgical facelift remains the method of choice for dramatic, permanent facial rejuvenation.

There is no typical facelift. Many different variations are possible, depending on the individual

situation and requirement.  When only one specific area of the face is tightened and corrected, it’s referred to as a local/partial face lift or correction.  In contrast to a classical facelift, in a minimally invasive facelift, the endoscope is used. It is possible to tighten just the skin layer (Soft Lift) or to include  also the supporting connective tissues and muscles behind the skin as is done with the SMAS facelift or the platysma lift on the neck, or a combination of both of them, defined as the complete SMAS Face and Necklift [see the graphic above]. A series of criteria is taken in consideration by the experienced specialist during the consultation for an individually tailored solution of aging correction and face rejuvenation.

  • Your personal expectations.

  • our age and the quality/elasticity of your skin.

  • whether or not aging signs are limited to a local area of the face (or neck) or if they are present on all the areas of   the face and the neck.

  • The question of whether or not the aging signs are even present on all areas of the face or if the different areas are in   different stages of aging.

By the younger patient the problem areas are mainly in the upper area of the face , where

wrinkles on the forehead, expression lines on the glabella, and drooping eyelids frequently appear as early signs of aging. The problem areas of older patients extend over all the areas of the face, especially over the area of the cheeks, jaw and neck. So, one of the most frequently applied version by the younger patient is the Forehead Lift with glabella, eventually including also the blepharoplasty (eyelid lift).

By the older patient the problem areas extend usually over all areas of the face, especially over

the cheeks, jaw and neck area. While by the younger patient a Forehead Lift eventually with Eyelid Lift or Glabella Lift most frequently brings the best aesthetical result, by the older patient the SMAS mid face lift with neck lift, or the complete SMAS Face and Neck lead to the best results of rejuvenation.

 Minimum invasive Endoscopy

The minimally invasive endoscope allows the effective correction of single problem areas. On younger patients or on patients with not too much drooping skin it is possible to perform a  complete minimally invasive facelift (Endoscopic face lift) that includes all the areas of the face and the neck. Not every plastic surgeon is specialized in the area of endoscopic plastic surgery and endoscopic facelift. Learn about the ... Endoscopic face lift. During your personal consultation the experienced specialist will find out which areas of your face are in which aging stage. This is the fist step toward finding the right surgery for you. Generally with a patient up to 40-45 years the endoscopic face lift combined with local laser resurfacing lead to excellent results, without any visible scars.

Complete SMAS face & neck lift

For the patient over 45 usually the complete SMAS Face and Necklift or the complete reconstruction of the anatomy of the youthful face represents the most successful existing forms of treatment.

Facial rejuvenation - Tailor made face lift

The experienced and specialized facial rejuvenation plastic surgeon is able to individually connect/combine the different methods and techniques of endoscopy, laser dermatology and classical facelift, in response to the individual situation and requirements of each single patient. The resulting rebuilding of the anatomy of the youthful face requires specialized qualifications, skills and experience on the part of the surgeon. Thanks to the different advantages of the different methods, with the reconstruction operation the specialized plastic surgeon can achieve a higher level of quality in the result, minimizing or even excluding visible scars.

A facelift or complete facial rejuvenation surgery lasts 3-5 hours. During this time the experienced,

specialized plastic surgeon carries out very fine, precise sculpuring work. His experience, his

skills and his aesthetic feeling determine the quality of the result.
