There are two different techniques of lip enhancement: Temporary treatment and permanent

surgical augmentation. While the temporary treatment is realized by means of  fillers that are injected into the lips, durable lip enhancement can be obtained so far only by means of surgical enlargement. Surgical lip enhancement can be performed, according to the patient’s wishes and arrangement with the specialist, under both local and general anesthesia. Pain can occur during the first 1-3 days and swelling can last up to 5-15 days after the operation. However, pain-relievers are given to the patient during the first few days, and the patient may resume normal activities after1-3 days.
